Recording Cash Amount

Considerations

GainsKeeper automatically subtracts or adds to your cash amount as you record buys and sells in your portfolio.

Procedure

To record cash amounts:

1. From GainsTracker, select Record Trades. The Import or Manually Record Trades page displays.

2. In the Manually record your trades for section, click the Cash icon. The Record Cash Amount page displays.

3. Select the account to which to add the cash position from the In Account drop-down list.

4. Enter a baseline date in the Date field. GainsKeeper uses this date to automatically add or subtract cash from any buy or sell transactions that have a trade date after the "baseline" date.

5. Enter the cash amount in the Amount $ field.

6. To save the entered cash position, click Save. To leave this page, without saving your changes, click Cancel. If you no longer want to track cash in the selected account, click Remove.
